RULES AND REGULATIONS

MEETINGS

Business/Membership

Monthly meetings will convene on a day and time that will be determined by Club members. Any business at hand will be presented to the members present to be voted upon. The minutes of the previous business meeting will be read. The floor will be opened for any new business that a club member wishes to be considered. The club members will be advised of any workshops that have been scheduled.

Workshops

These meetings will be announced at the regular business meetings. Their subject matter and the date and time of the workshop will be discussed. The Secretary shall be responsible to notify all members of the club of these workshops through a mailing. These workshops will be provided for any club member interested in learning performance and backstage skills. These workshops are not mandatory.

Production

These meeting will consist of auditions, rehearsals, and performances of specific productions. All club members directly involved in the productions must attend all of these meetings unless prior notification is given to any club officer. The director of the production will preside over these meetings, answerable only to the club president. The director has the right to limit any specific rehearsal to those directly involved in the production. At auditions, notification must be given of any scheduling problems with rehearsals or performances that would occur if the club member were cast in the production. Excessive tardiness and/or absences will not be tolerated, and the cast member dropped from the production by decree of the director.

PARTICIPATION FEES

There will be a variable/nominal fee charged to any club member cast in a production. This fee will be determined by the club officers - it will depend on the budget needs for each individual production. It will be due by the end of the first week of rehearsal.

LIABILITY

Each cast member will be required to sign a document stating that the AEA Musical Comedy Club will not be liable in the event of any accident or injury occuring during the course of a meeting or workshop.

COSTUMES

Costumes will not be released to the cast until performance time. At such time, the individual members of the cast will be responsible for their entire wardrobe for the production until the final performance. Cast members will be liable for any damages inflicted on the costume due to negligence (the renter will determine whether or not the costume is damaged and to what extent). Cast members will also be required to return all costumes cleaned at the end of the production. Rented costumes may also require cleaning by cast members and instructions on cleaning will be given at that time. The club reserves the right to collect a deposit from a cast member on any rented costume.

PROPERTIES

A property is defined as any object handled by a cast member during a rehearsal or performance. Cast members may be expected to acquire certain properties. Properties will not be released to the cast until performance time. At such time, the individual members of the cast will be responsible for their set of props until the final performance. Cast members will be liable for any damages inflicted on the props due to negligence. The club reserves the right to collect a deposit from a cast member on any rented prop.
