March 31, 2005 AEA Amateur Radio Club Meeting MinutesThe AEA Amateur Radio Club held its monthly meeting on 31 March in A3 Dining Room B at 11:30am. Club President William Wysock, N6UXW, announced that the club has secured a reservation for the Christmas party at the Hacienda Hotel on Sepulveda Boulevard for 14 December 2005. It will be from 11:30am to 1:00pm. We have paid a $200.00 deposit. The club will partially subsidize cost of attendance for club members. The details of the individual cost for the party will be voted on during the April meeting. Victor Cortez, KD6YWS, gave a presentation to the club about the role of amateur radio operators during emergency operations at Aerospace. We have the important function of coordinating information during a crisis. All of the earthquake and fire drills involve the hams. He encouraged the hams at Aerospace to attend the emergency training sessions he holds regularly. The next meeting will be on 28 April in A1/1052, which is just off the A1 lobby. Mike Gorlick, KF6YYV, will talk to the club about Internet Enabled Amateur Radio. Also, we will take a tour of the newly renovated A3 Ham Shack. The club website is being kept up to date by Kirk Crawford, KG6MTE. Keep up to date on club activities by going to: http://www.aeaclubs.org/w6ago/
