August 25, 2005 AEA Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes

The Amateur Radio Club monthly meeting was held on 25 August in A1/1082. Vic Cortez, KD6YWS, ran the meeting in Bill Wysock's absence.

Frank Voit, K3FV, discussed some of the items which will be auctioned off in the November meeting. From the A2 shack are the ICOM 37A, ICOM 271A (with a bad switch), Alliance Dual Speed Antenna Rotator Controller, and a Kenwood Monitor. We still need an inventory of the D8 shack to determine items for the auction. The old high power amplifier, now down to about 800 watts and without 160 meters or the WARC bands, is a likely candidate.

Frank also volunteered to train the company communication operators on the radios in the Emergency Control Center.

The recent CERT training was quite successful. Aerospace now has 80 CERT-certified personnel. Vic was able to get JO for the three days of training this time.

Mike Gorlick, KF6YYV, will make a presentation of his recent UHF/VHF competitions during the October meeting on 27 October 2005. This should be a very interesting meeting.

Remember that club dues for the coming year are due in October.

73,
Bob Hosken
