September 29, 2005 AEA Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes

The AEA Amateur Radio Club held its meeting on 29 September 2005 in A3 Dining Room B. The meeting was held by club vice-president, Vic Cortez, KD6YWS.

Club treasurer Sarah Ostapchuk, N9ZZT, has left The Aerospace Corporation to work for Lockheed Martin in Lancaster. The club executive committee (president Bill Wysock, N6UXW, Vic Cortez, and former president Frank Voit, K3FV) appointed former treasurer Steve Craig, KD6OVZ, to be interim treasurer until elections in December. The meeting attendees unaminously ratified the committee action.

Club member Michael Gorlick, KF6YYV, reminded us that he will tell us about his recent contesting from a mountain top at the next meeting on 27 October 2005. His tales and pictures will be very exciting.

We agreed to devote the November meeting to a silent auction of the ham equipment that the club has replaced.

Dave Scholler, KG6BPH, recommended that the club join the Los Angeles Area Council of Amateur Radio Clubs. Dave and Archie Buchanan, KD6OLH, regularly attend the meetings of this group. Vic made a motion that the club pay the $10.00 to join the council. The motion passed.
