December 14, 2006 AEA Amateur Radio Club Meeting MinutesChristmas Party at Hacienda HotelThe club meeting was held in the Hacienda Hotel in one of their banquet rooms. The food was good and we were entertained with Frank on the keyboard. During the meeting, new officers were elected. Our new president is Frank Voit-K3FV. Bill Wysock-N6UXW will be our new Vice President. Joe Barger-N6KK stepped up to be the treasurer this year, and I (Kirk Crawford-KG6MTE) will take on the Secretary position. We discussed the proceeding on the buildings of Aerospace that could have HAM stations. There is interest in Colorado Springs, as well as 4 HAMS are known to be in Albuquerque. DCS (Disaster Control Service) was discussed. Frank Voit participates in it, but Aerospace no longer does. It was noted that the DCS is not very active. It was suggested that for a future meeting, maybe Mike Gorlick can give a report on his contests. Another future topic could be IRLP (Internet Radio Linking Project). Someone mentioned that RACES uses WinLink and it has lots of options. Dick Pruit has a winlink system on 440 with 39 repeaters linked together. One is in Medford Oregon repeater on Mt Ashland. We would like to set up a schedule to contact him. He may have been a former Aerospace employee. More information can be found at www.winsystem.org. -N6QZV The results of the raffle were as follows:
